We built Floodboard because we needed it
Floodboard is a free, live flood map of Bangkok, built by three friends during the 2026 floods to help people get through safely.

Why we built it
In September 2026, trying to get sandbags to friends in Bangkok, we could not find a road our car could get through. The answers existed, but they were scattered across more than 20 places: government notices, road sensors, canal gauges, posts on X.
So we decided to use what we know. Mateusz led the development, and together we brought every one of those sources onto a single map, for everyone in the same situation. Today Floodboard shows the water across Bangkok as it is right now, and finds a route around it for your vehicle.

Polish entrepreneur and sound engineer based in Hua Hin, Thailand. Many of his friends live in Thailand, and when the floods reached Bangkok he wanted one reliable place to check which roads are flooded, and to bring help to the people who need it.
Karol Bernacki
Co-founder, reliability
Polish student and sound system engineer. He brought the reliability and redundancy of live sound to Floodboard, so the map keeps working for everyone, continuously, when people need it most.
How it works
Every few minutes we pull 12+ sources: BMA road water sensors (in cm), official notices, Traffy Fondue, ThaiWater rain and water-level stations, CCTV, news, social media and reports from people on the ground. Every road gets a verdict for motorbikes, sedans, pickups and trucks. Sensors and official data weigh most; a single unconfirmed report never closes a road on its own.
The more people help, the better it gets
Standing at a flooded spot? Tap "Report flooding", pick the depth and add a photo. It is on the map within seconds and warns everyone coming after you. No name or phone number needed.
Open to everyone in need
Free for everyone who needs it: no ads, no sign-up, no app to install. Every colour on the map traces back to its sources, and the data is open: newsrooms, rescue teams, agencies and developers can use the flooded roads and reports for free (GeoJSON / CSV, CC BY 4.0) or embed the live map on their own site.
